AWE-ful life
I just spent the last weekend at Hume Lake Christian Camp. Hume Lake is a unique camp, just they it's ran is different than any other camp I've been to. Hume gives you a close encounter with god for anyone of all ages. The theme of the camp this year was An AWE-ful life...YES AWE-FUL NOT AWFUL. Let's just say that I had an aweful time. What they mean by Awe-ful is to be in awe of god and all that he's has done for us. Even the worship put us in a place of awe, singing stuff like: I'll stand with arms high and heart abandon in AWE of the one who gave it all. The speaker, on the first night, gave an example of a man who was walking in a Feild and came across a treasure. The man hid the treasure in the Feild then went back to his home and sold EVERYTHING he owned just to go back and buy the Feild that he buried the treasure in. The speaker used that as an example of how we need to be in such awe of God that we will give up EVERYTHING in order to fallow him. I experienced that first hand as soon as I came home. I had been talking with a girl who i really liked and she liked me aswell. But she wasn't a Christian and didn't fallow God. I knew I wanted to fallow god from the inside out and I knew that only way I could be his deciple was to end that relationship. I want to live for god even if that means I have to sell EVERYTHING I own. So I did the hard thing and put that relationship aside. Put God first in your life and he will bless you and trust him through the hard times.
